The science festival, an unmissable event

On March 27th, the URJC scientific community will participate in the Madrid is Science Fair, offering a broad program of activities to share knowledge and scientific and technological advances with society. This event is sponsored by the Community of Madrid, through the madri+d Knowledge Foundation, and will take place within the framework of Education Week at IFEMA.

La XIV Madrid is Science Fair The event will be held from March 27th to 29th in Hall 1 of the IFEMA Madrid exhibition center, under the theme "Looking to the Future." This scientific outreach event is completely free and is aimed at both the educational community and the general public. Its main objectives are to foster scientific careers among young people and to demonstrate how research influences economic development and the well-being of society.

Rey Juan Carlos University is once again participating in this meeting space for the scientific community and citizens to share knowledge and scientific and technological advances. The URJC stand will be open to the public on March 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. and will feature activities on a variety of topics, under the theme: Come to URJScienceVisitors will be able to learn about the various applications of 3D printers, discover how concentrated solar power provides enough heat to produce renewable hydrogen, and learn about the nutritional importance and interesting facts about a staple food like the potato.

Additionally, participants will be able to participate in various board games to test their knowledge of health sciences and learn how television audiences are measured.

To complete the program, works related to robotics, aerospace engineering, and architecture will be exhibited, being developed by the URJC student associations Robotech, COSMOS, and 3ARQ, respectively.

The participation of the URJC in the Madrid is Science Fair is coordinated by the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Transfer, through the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I), and has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The stage for sharing knowledge and experiences

The Madrid is Science Fair aims to be a space for learning and exploring the scientific, technological, and innovative ecosystem of the Community of Madrid. Furthermore, this event takes place within the framework of Education Week and serves as a meeting point for teachers, researchers, and entrepreneurs with the general public to share knowledge and experiences.

The madri+d Knowledge Foundation, the event coordinator, will offer various activities that will also include the participation of URJC professors and researchers.

At Ágora Various presentations will be available throughout the Fair's programming, including one entitled "Simulating Mars on Earth: Science, Communication, and Sustainability at the Mars Desert Research Station", which will be taught by a professor from the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FCCOM).

In addition, at the stand dedicated to the Artificial Intelligence you will be able to learn about some of the projects Intelligent Robotics Lab from the Rey Juan Carlos University, which participates with the activity “AI on wheels and legs".

This edition of the fair will also have a space dedicated to the innovation and teacher training In which professors from the area of ​​Didactics of Experimental Sciences (Department of Educational Sciences of the FCEDEI) will participate, along with students from the URJC of the degrees in education (Primary and Early Childhood) and the Master's in Teacher Training.
