The initiative is driven by the Consolidated Teaching Innovation Group in Digital Cities (CIUDIG) of the URJC. This academic meeting aims to promote the exchange of experiences in educational innovation among university professors, especially in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The congress is directed by professors Isabel Enciso Alonso-Muñumer and Marina Perruca Gracia, both teachers at the FCEDEI, and is supported by several university-linked teaching innovation projects, such as 'Digitizing the Historic City with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)' and 'Madrid in a Click: Cartography, Ceremony, and Interculturality in Digital.'
The faculty raised a variety of topics, such as the use of social media, project-based learning, initiatives that incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the application of new perspectives from dance, literature, and law in communication with history. Other topics focused on assessment, the use of artificial intelligence, immersive experiences in heritage, and the use of epistolary sources to understand women's emotions in the past. "A whole range of possibilities that will lead us to reflect and assess the progress in teaching innovation at the present time to continue advancing our commitments to society," says Isabel Enciso.
Participation is free for both attendees and presenters. Paper proposals must be related to areas such as Digital Humanities, Social Sciences, History and Art History, Language and Literature, Philosophy, Education, or interdisciplinary approaches. Each paper may have a maximum of three authors.
The results will be published by a prestigious publisher in digital format to promote open culture and free access for all.
