Another year, the EFE y SIGNUS Ecovalor They have launched the Cristina Yuste Environmental Journalism Scholarship, whose main objective is to promote specialization in this field and in the coverage of waste management. This time, the winner is Karina Godoy, a student in the Master's Degree in Digital Journalism and New Profiles at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

A graduate in Communication from the National University of Asunción, Godoy learned about the scholarship through an email sent by the URJC's Internship Unit. Afterward, she says, "I put my best effort into presenting a good essay, hoping to win the position." Ultimately, the Paraguayan was selected for this scholarship, obtaining an opportunity she describes as "key to expanding my knowledge in the field, in a place with international reach and a high reputation like the EFE Agency."

After completing her academic studies in her native Paraguay, the journalist came to Spain seeking to "deepen my knowledge of digital communication, update myself with digital tools, and apply the lessons learned to environmental journalism." Therefore, landing an internship at EFEverde is "a goal accomplished and the perfect combination of what I was looking for."

Finally, having completed her master's degree at the URJC, which she accessed thanks to a scholarship from the Ibero-American Postgraduate University Association, Godoy's perspectives include "continuing to work on raising awareness of socio-environmental injustices and raising awareness among the public about the importance of and the right to live in a healthy environment," given that "the negative or positive impact generated on the environment affects us all, and I believe that journalism is a fundamental tool for showing these realities and promoting collective awareness," she concluded.
