A total of 13 universities, including the Rey Juan Carlos University, have joined together under the same institutional image to make this championship a reality with the support of the Superior Sports Council and General Directorate of Sports of the Community of MadridThis union between Madrid universities "not only highlights the region's organizational potential, but also strengthens the commitment of Madrid universities to sports as an essential part of students' comprehensive education," highlights Alexander Gil Arias, Deputy Vice-Rector for Sports at the URJC.
In this edition of the CEU 2025, the URJC has an active role not only in the participation of our students, but also in the organization of the Spanish University Tennis Championship, which will be held from May 20 to 22 at the facilities of the Madrid Tennis Federation.

To date, the URJC has had a significant presence at the 2025 CEUs, with representation in disciplines such as athletics, swimming, adapted swimming, cross-country, badminton, fencing, equestrian, chess, volleyball, karate, weightlifting, and judo, among others. "The URJC highlights the merits of our students, who come from different faculties and campuses of the university, and who are proudly carrying the name of the University nationwide," says Alexander Gil.
As for the URJC's list of achievements, in weightlifting, María Olalla Muñoz won the silver medal in the 63 kg category, while Sofía Lozano Moreno took the bronze in the 58 kg category. In badminton, Alejandro Baschwitz Rodríguez won the bronze medal in the singles event, and Álvaro Moral Gómez also took the bronze in the men's doubles. In taekwondo, Adrián Villa was crowned champion with the gold medal in the under 74 kg category. Laura García Martínez won the silver medal in the under 46 kg category, and Yadira Reimundez Queimadelos won the bronze in the under 57 kg category.
In judo, Diego Diezma Martínez won the gold medal in the over 100 kg category, and Ana Vizoso Hernández also won gold in the under 78 kg category. María Rey Burgos earned a well-deserved bronze medal in the under 70 kg category. In table tennis, Fernando Cabrera, Félix Movellán, and Saúl Hernán won bronze in the team event. In athletics, Aleksandra Wruszak Zdobylak won silver in the 400-meter dash, and Elsa Díaz-Palacio Aceña won bronze in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Deputy Vice-Rector for Sports states that URJC students "not only compete, but also represent the entire university community with an exemplary attitude. Sports are a tool for development, personal growth, and cohesion. We are deeply proud of each and every one of them."
