On Monday afternoon, the new rector of Rey Juan Carlos University announced the names of those who will accompany him over the next six years.

Early today, May 26, Abraham Duarte was proclaimed rector of the URJC, with the official publication of his appointment in the BOCM. The now top official of the University then addressed the entire university community via email to introduce his new governing team. The rector also took the opportunity to express his gratitude for "the trust placed in our project, which is born from a collective commitment to change, continuous improvement, and the strengthening of our University." Thus, the General Secretariat will be headed by Martha Albert Marquez, Professor of Philosophy of Law and, until now, Director of the University's Legal Clinic.

As for the vice-rectorates, the new Vice-Rector for Quality, Degrees and Own Teachings will be Ana Isabel Cid Cid, professor of Mathematics Didactics at the FCEE, while the Vice-Rectorate of Communication and University Projection will be held by Miguel Banos Gonzalez, professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the FCCOM and former dean of this faculty. For his part, Belen Vela Sanchez, professor of Computer Languages ​​and Systems at the ETSII, will be the new Vice-Rector for Coordination and Digital Transformation.

Continuing with the new appointments, Julio Ramiro Bargueno, professor of Signal Theory and Communications at the Fuenlabrada School of Engineering, will become Vice-Rector for Students, Employability and Entrepreneurship, while the Vice-Rectorate for Social Responsibility, Culture and Sport will fall into the hands of Jesús Arsuaga Ferreras, Professor of Experimental Science Teaching at the FCEDEI. For his part, Joaquin Rams Ramos, Professor of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at ESCET, will take the reins of the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Doctoral Studies and Library.

In this line, the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Planning will be held by Araceli Rodriguez Mateos, Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts at the FAH. In parallel, the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching and Research Staff will be headed by Alicia White Gonzalez, Professor of Marketing and Market Research at the FCEE, and the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations, for Ana Felicitas Muñoz Pérez, professor of Commercial Law at the FCJP.

Likewise, the Vice-Rectorate for Transfer and Scientific-Technological Structures will be headed by Fernando Martinez Castillejo, Professor of Chemical Engineering at ESCET, while Manuel Duran Poveda, Professor of Surgery at the FCS, will be the new Vice-Rector for Relations with Hospitals and Social-Health Centers.

Additionally, it is worth highlighting the appointment, as the Rector's Delegate for Economic Affairs, of Maria Luisa Delgado Jalon, Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the FCEE. For her part, Pablo Acosta Gallo, head of Administrative Law at the FCJP, will be the Rector's Delegate for Statutory Reform.

On another note, the Rector also announced the appointment of Darío Sánchez Villar, currently the manager of the Móstoles campus, as the new General Manager of the University.

Finally, Abraham Duarte took the opportunity to thank all the members of the previous team, as well as all the members of Fernando García Muiña's candidacy, and announced that, in the coming days, he will establish "open channels of communication to gather ideas, concerns, and proposals."
