Researchers from the ETSII Sergio Pérez Peló, Raúl Martín Santamaría, and Diego Palacios Ortega have achieved first place in the Capture the Flag (CTF) of the National Security Research Conference.

The event, held from May 23 to 25 in virtual format, has been organized by the Viewnext-UEX Chair and hosted by the University of ZaragozaMore than 150 competitors participated in this seventh edition, grouped into 79 teams from universities and centers in Spain and six other countries. The competition tested advanced skills in reverse engineering, forensic analysis, and web security, among other disciplines.

The URJC staff, with the team 'Older than you', took first place, as well as an iPad 2025 sponsored by 'ViewNextThe award was received by Pedro Paredes Barragán, Academic Coordinator of Infrastructure and Educational Innovation at the URJC, who highlighted the excellent training that students in the Cybersecurity degree program receive at the ETSII.

The National Cybersecurity Research Conference They have been held annually since 2015. Since its first edition in León, this event has been held in cities such as Granada, Madrid, San Sebastián, Cáceres, Bilbao, Vigo, and Seville, in addition to a virtual edition coordinated from Castilla-La Mancha during the COVID-19 health crisis. On this occasion, Zaragoza is the host city of the tenth edition, with the aim of strengthening the connection between academic research, technological development, and cybersecurity.
