With an extensive career as a researcher, Belén Puebla has more than 140 publications in scientific and high-impact journals, as well as in research books. She is a specialist in analytical methods of communication research, highlighting the areas of analysis on the fight against disinformation, the study of Spanish television fiction and the history of the media, among other lines of research.

Throughout his career he has received multiple awards that highlight the use of innovative educational practices and his contribution to the improvement of teaching, such as the first prize in the Innovative Educational Practices Awards of the Rey Juan Carlos University or the first prize for Innovation and Improvement of Teaching and Services organized by the CEU Cardenal Herrera University. Among other achievements, awards stand out such as the one for the highest citation for the monograph coordinated under his direction “Television series: 'multiverse' object of study in communication” or the honorable mention with the award for the highest number of presentations for his participation in the III International Congress Communication and Thought, Smartphone Generation: Mobile Communication of the University of Seville.

In total, Belén has participated in more than 130 conferences and academic events, contributing as a speaker to many of them. In addition, she has developed different functions in direction and coordination, highlighting her position as president of the International Congress of Innovation, Education and Knowledge Transfer (CIINECO). She holds the position of president of the Association of Scientific Journals in Communication PlatCom, at the same time she is founder and director of the scientific journal index.comunicación with a high impact index (Scopus, Q1).

She currently coordinates the high-performance research group in Innovation, Education and Communication (INECO) at the Rey Juan Carlos University, under the position of principal researcher since its creation. Her experience in research projects is extensive; she has worked as principal investigator of various projects, both national and European. She has also been a member of nine projects and has completed research stays at prestigious university centers.

On the other hand, as part of her commitment to educational innovation, she is the coordinator of the consolidated innovation group NODOS, developing different educational actions at the university and outside it in order to bring the institution closer to citizens.

Her last academic achievement was in 2023 with the accreditation by ANECA as a professor, a position she won in January 2024. She is an expert in teacher training courses, and has given master classes at the University of Valladolid, University of Santiago of Compostela, CEU San Pablo University, among others.
