The master's degree aims to complement the training of active Social Work professionals or those who want to dedicate themselves in the future to social expertise. It will contribute to training in the necessary socio-legal skills and competencies, for a correct performance of the functions of the Social Worker in the field of the Administration of Justice and in the exercise from private practice, including knowledge about ethics, roles and functions to perform, tools, resources, organization of the judicial system and expert practice.

Objectives

Know the current judicial system and enter the social forensic field to define functions, roles and practices of the professional.
Identify the different tasks of the Social Worker in the judicial field
Improve the technical capacity of the social work professional and the application of the techniques and tools of social evaluation, to obtain evidence from various sources of information and issue opinions based on objectivity and impartiality.
Identify possible ethical dilemmas.
Prepare expert reports in accordance with current legal regulations.
Develop skills and abilities to appear in oral proceedings
Strengthen the role of the Social Worker within the framework of the new Administration of Justice
Train Social Work professionals with a specialized qualification to work in the expert field

The subject studies the intervention of the professional social expert in the family courts, which are exclusively in charge of processing all legal proceedings related to marriage and relationships between parents and children (parent-child relationships), surveillance penitentiary that is in charge of supervising penitentiary activity, guaranteeing the rights of all inmates and correcting possible abuses and deviations that may occur by the Administration with respect to them, in compliance with the precepts of the penitentiary regime, of violence against women, which are the jurisdictional bodies that specifically instruct criminal acts derived from gender violence, that is, those committed by a man on his married or common-law partner or on a woman with whom he has a similar and stable relationship, even without coexistence. And, finally, the intervention of the social expertise professional in the forensic teams is essentially focused on obtaining the biographical data that may be relevant in the study of the person to be evaluated, with express reference to the level of the documented value thereof.

Forensic Physician who is in charge of the functions related to medical-legal expertise and, in particular, the periodic control of the injured and the assessment of bodily harm that are the subject of procedural actions, as well as assistance or optional surveillance of detainees , the intervention of the professional in the Superior Courts of Justice, in the criminal jurisdiction of minors as judicial experts framed within the technical teams of minors and the Service of Attention and protection to victims of crime

External academic internships are regulated training activities carried out by Master's students, mainly in civil and criminal Courts and Tribunals, and are intended to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in theoretical training, in order to promote the acquisition of skills. and skills necessary for the exercise of forensic social expertise, facilitating their employability.

K1 Final Degree Project

The TFM is the elaboration by the original social report under the supervision of the tutor or tutors of the University oriented to the application of the competences of the Master and that will be ratified before the Tribunal or Evaluation Commission constituted for that purpose.

evaluation systems

During the academic year there will be three group tests made up of multiple choice questions, short questions and a practical case. The first of the tests will include the subjects from module A to D, the second test will include the subjects included in modules F and G, and finally, the third test will include the subjects included in modules E, H and I.

Each part of each of the tests will be weighted as follows: multiple choice test and short question test 60% and the practical course 40% of the final grade. In any case, in each of the tests you must obtain a grade of 5 or higher.

The final mark of the group tests will be the sum of those obtained in each one of them.

The final grade of the Master will be made up as follows:

The group tests weigh 25% of the final grade

External practices weigh 30% of the final grade

The Master's Final Project weighs 45% of the final grade

Number of places reserved: 2. When the number of applications that meet the access requirements exceeds the number of places available, a place is reserved for vulnerable groups (disability, victims of terrorism and gender violence, article 50 of the regulation) with the same selection criteria.
