The Academic Committee of the SMART E2 Institutional Chair has identified the opportunity to start up at the Rey Juan Carlos University a University Expert Course in tools for the management of intelligent buildings in order to train students in the concept of Industry 4.0 and Smart (Building, Campus, City, Energy). Therefore, this course will comprehensively address those methodologies and technologies that are already demanded by governments, institutions and, in general, by society, and that will allow achieving the objectives set in terms of reducing energy consumption and, therefore, emissions harmful to the environment within the framework of the “Smart Cities".

The course will feature Industry 4.0 companies and URJC professors who are experts in the implementation and development of infrastructures and software that allow the analysis of data from facilities technical management systems (BMS) and energy monitoring (EMS). We will also have the participation of experts in optimizing the operation of installation control systems by applying new rules and advanced methodologies from the analysis of recorded data from buildings. In addition, the collaborating professors of the SMARTE2 chair will present success stories related to the efficient operation of buildings and with a special focus on the BIM methodology for the exploitation of assets based on IoT infrastructures.
