This Olympiad was born as a local project of the Madrid Universities, promoted by the Spanish Society of Physiological Sciences and based on the Olympics that Prof. Cheng Hwee Ming of the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organizes at an international level. The prize of this first Olympiad is the participation of the winning team in the 17th Inter Medical Physiology Quiz in Jakarta, Indonesia, which will be held on August 21-22, 2019.

In this first edition, 12 universities have participated and 34 teams have been presented, made up of 3 students each. The URJC has been represented by 2 teams. The recording of the conference was also carried out by URJC students of the double degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication.
