This race was born 9 editions ago by Dr. Juan Casado Flores, Head of the Hospital's Intensive Care Service, given the need to raise funds for scientific research, and to promote healthy habits focused on practicing sports regularly. . This year will take place Sunday October 13 in the vicinity of the Niño Jesús-Retiro Hospital, and in previous editions nearly 10.000 runners have participated.
It is especially ORIENTED TO FAMILIES, where all kinds of runners are invited: families with babies and children, as well as teenagers, adults and older people, and also, of course, expert runners.
It has three modes of participation:
- Race with a 2K Family Circuit designed for the little ones.
- 4K Race (with chip): All ages.
- 10K race (with chip): Minimum authorized age 16 years
With the money raised, pediatric research projects from the different research areas of the Hospital will be financed. The projects financed in previous years have been:
- Gastroenterology and nutrition: INFLAM-App-PED. An application to improve the control of patients with pediatric inflammatory bowel disease. AWARDED MSD INNOVATION AWARD
- Pediatric Surgery: Study of neuroblastoma through the mechanisms that can affect its growth and relapse.
