The nomination for the awards arises from the initiative of the students, who are the ones who propose the candidatures to the Educa platform. The platform counts not only the proposals received by each professor but also considers the comments and reasons that the students include in the application.

After this nomination, a second phase begins in which the candidates present their academic merits, evaluating the following dimensions:

⁃ Number of proposals received
⁃ Comments provided by proponents
⁃ Carrying out innovative activities in the classroom
⁃ Presence of the teacher in social networks and platforms
⁃ Teacher's own website or blog
⁃ Participation in training activities to recycle knowledge
⁃ Presence in the media
⁃ Publication of books and articles in magazines
⁃ Participation in solidarity activities for educational purposes
⁃ Organization of training sessions in the educational field
⁃ Participation in research carried out in the educational field
⁃ Significant facts for students

After the evaluation of the merits, the Educa platform will make public (December 5, 2019) the list of the 10 finalists for the Educa Best University Teacher 2019 awards, whose decision will be issued on January 10, 2020 and will be delivered, in Santiago of Compostela, on February 29, 2020.
