The research entitled 'Validation of a mobile application for gait assessment in patients with Parkinson's disease', developed by D. Sergio Clavijo Buendía (Graduated from the Physiotherapy Degree of the Rey Juan Carlos University), he aimed study concurrent validity, construct validity and test-retest reliability of the free mobile app Runzi, for the Android operating system, in the assessment of space-time parameters of gait in patients with Parkinson's disease.
This work is part of the research lines of the Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine in relation to New Technologies in Neurorehabilitation in order to improve the assessment and treatment of patients with neurological pathology, with an impact on the care of these patients.
The study included the participation of patients with Parkinson's disease, from the Association of Parkinson's patients APARKAN, at its headquarters in Alcorcón (Madrid). This work is pending review in an international journal indexed in the JCR.
The research is directed by Prof. Dr. Roberto Cano de la Cuerda, University Professor of the Department of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the FCS of the URJC.
