The confinement decreed to combat the coronavirus pandemic is a necessary measure that governments around the world are taking to stop the advance of COVID-19, but it does not stop being especially harsh for certain vulnerable groupssuch as the people suffering from pathologies such as neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), brain damage and neurodegenerative and aging diseases, and of course, their families.

In order to help them cope with this situation, the Master in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology of the URJC collaborates in the initiative created by the Madrid Association of Neuropsychology and the neuropsychologists of Madrid, who have generated a Free professional advice platform through the Internetcalled Solidarity Neuropsychologists with you against #COVID-19.

How is the routine of a person with neuropsychological disorders organized during confinement? How can you maintain your cognitive activity when you don't have the opportunity to go to therapy centers? How can you maintain attention or concentration if you do not have the tools or knowledge to carry them out? All these issues are faced daily by thousands of people who need neuropsychological care, as well as their families, in these difficult times for everyone.

With the aim of offering these people guidance from professionals, the Madrid Association of Neuropsychology and Neuropsychologists of Madrid have created an online solidarity platform, Solidarity neuropsychologists with you against #COVID-19, through which a support and advice service is offered free of charge to care for, attend to and resolve any doubts that may arise in the day-to-day of confinement. La platform, which can be accessed at the following address: neurocontigo.org and in which neuropsychologists already offer consultations to patients and families, includes a section with a contact form where you can express any doubts or difficulties that this situation of confinement may be generating.

The professors and students of the aforementioned Master are working on two fronts. On the one hand, in the supervision of volunteer neuropsychologists who are offering their support and counseling services to patients and families. On the other hand, in the elaboration of informative capsules in short video format, where guidelines and strategies can be summarized to work with patients in a simpler and more graphic way.
