A teaching initiative based on short films reminds us how to avoid the transmission of microorganisms

Third-year medical students have produced a set of explanatory short films on hand hygiene and the importance of wearing a mask

This initiative, organized by the professor of the Department of Medical Specialties and Public Health of the URJC, María del Alba González-Escalada Mena, has consisted of making short films, some of them animated, with the purpose of disseminating in an entertaining way the strategies to prevent the spread of microorganisms.

DOCTOR CHIQUITA PRESENTS HOW TO WASH YOUR HANDS

This video describes how the transmission of microorganisms through person-to-person contact can be avoided through proper hand washing.

IT'S IN YOUR HANDS

This video shows how simple  In our daily lives, it can result in the transmission of microorganisms between one person and another through dirty hands or contact with different types of objects once we have touched them. It emphasizes the importance of proper handwashing and explains in detail how it should be carried out.

LAURA'S MASK

This video highlights the importance of adequate respiratory hygiene, as well as the correct use of masks to prevent the transmission of microorganisms through the airway.

PROTECTION AGAINST THE TRANSMISSION OF MICROORGANISMS THROUGH THE RESPIRATORY TRACT

This video explains in detail the different routes of respiratory transmission as well as the main measures to be implemented to avoid them.

PROTECT YOURSELF, PROTECT US… WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY

This video emphasizes the importance of proper handwashing for our health and explains the steps necessary to achieve it.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

This video reflects how our lives can change after the unexpected spread of a microorganism (as has happened with this pandemic), reviews the main routes of transmission by contact and emphasizes proper hand washing to control the spread of microorganisms.
