The Conference of Neuroscientists celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The activity was attended by 10 exceptional speakers 

La Neuroscientists Conference the Friday, February 11 at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The activity, directed by the Vice Dean of Research and Development of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Eva Mª Sánchez Robles, was inaugurated by the Dean of the FCS, Dr. Carmen Gallargo Pino, who emphasized giving visibility to the research activity of women. The attendees, more than 90, enjoyed the conferences and the debate carried out by 10 women researchers in the area of ​​neuroscience. These were the topics they discussed:

  • "Learning neuroanatomy through images: pioneering women in medical illustration" (Prof. Dr. Gema Díaz Gil).
  • “Assessment of neuropathic pain in animal models” (Prof. Dra. Rocío Girón Moreno).
  • “Gut-Brain Axis Disorders: How Does Sex Influence?” (Prof. Dr. Raquel Abalo Delgado).
  • “Neuroscience and eating behavior in experimental models” (Prof. Dr. Nuria Lauzurica).
  • Anorexia and polydipsia disorders induced in animals with different susceptibility to behavioral excess. (Dr. María José Labajos). 
  • “What do we cognitive neuroscientists do?” (Prof. Dr. Irene Peláez Cordeiro and Prof. Dr. Mª del Carmen Martín-Buro).
  • “Care activity in Clinical Neurophysiology” (Prof. Dr. Sonia Montilla Izquierdo).
  • “Research on movement and posture disorders in children with cancer treatment” (Prof. Dr. María Carratalá and Prof. Dr. Alicia Cuesta).
