BEGOÑA FERNÁNDEZ, DOCTORAL STUDENT AT THE URJC, AWARDED IN THE “YOUR RESEARCH IN 3 MINUTES” COMPETITION OF THE RSEQ

On April 9, the second edition of the scientific dissemination contest “Your research in 3 minutes” was held, organized by the Science and Technologies (Bio)Analytical Group (GCTbA) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ). . This is an online contest that aims to disseminate the work carried out by young researchers who are studying bachelor's, master's, doctoral thesis or who have recently obtained their doctorate. Participants had to present a static slide that summarized in an original way the most relevant aspects of their research, with a maximum exposure time of 3 minutes, with anyone who exceeded this limit being penalized.

14 young researchers from various national and international universities participated in this edition of the contest. Begoña Fernández, student of the Doctorate Program in Sciences at the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) and researcher of the consolidated Research Group in Analytical Chemistry Applied to the Environment, Food and Drugs (GQAA-MAF) directed by Dr. Isabel Sierra, Professor from the Analytical Chemistry area of ​​the URJC, won second prize in said contest. Her presentation focused on disseminating the importance of analyzing natural toxins in food, specifically in edible flowers that are trending in modern gastronomy. This recognition gave Begoña a financial award and a diploma that accredits her merit in the contest.
