FAPE organizes a conference on Fake News

The event will take place on September 27 in the assembly hall of the Madrid Press Association

La Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain (FAPE) presents “The emergence of fake news: how to win the battle against disinformation”. A conference that will be held next Friday, September 27, in the assembly hall of the Madrid Press Association (APM), located at number 98 on Claudio Coello street.

The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. Nemesio Rodríguez, the president of FAPE, will be in charge of delivering the opening speech. During the morning, there will be two debates: the first one will be about the “Analysis of the global phenomenon of the proliferation of hoaxes and false news. Situation in Spain”. Moderated by the director and presenter of the A3 Morning News, Lorena García, the following will attend as speakers:

  • Raphael Minder: New York Times correspondent in Spain
  • Jose Cepeda: senator and representative of Spain in the Council of Europe.
  • Mari Light Hairstyle: editor-in-chief of Verne – El País
  • Alba Precede: Infolibre journalist
  • david ferrero: Vost Madrid spokesperson

After the break, at 12:30 the second debate will take place, moderated by Jon Ariztimuño, the news director of Radio Televisión de Madrid. Under the title “The battle against disinformation, what measures are being taken by technology platforms, the media and journalists?” The protagonists of the debate are:

  • Cesar Gonzalez: news director of La Sexta
  • Olga Lambea: journalist and presenter of RTVE
  • Luis Windy: deputy director of ABC
  • Clara Jimenez: co-founder of Maldita.es
  • Antonio Vargas placeholder image: Google Institutional Relations Manager
