GEPAC holds a conference aimed at students of Communication Sciences

 

 

The Spanish Group of Cancer Patients (GEPAC) organizes a conference for November 22 at the Higher Technical School of Architecture in Madrid. “The power of communication: cancer in the media and social networks”Is the title  of the activity whose objective is to raise awareness among future journalists and communicators when it comes to informing and communicating on cancer matters.

To do this, two round tables and an individual paper will discuss the different types of cancer, as well as the influence of the media and social networks in their dissemination. Journalists, oncologists, directors of health media, heads of communication departments, influencers and patients will participate in the colloquium.

Students interested in the conference can register through the following link. Those students who attend the conference will receive 0,5 ECTS credits, being able to obtain 0,5 credits more if a later work is completed.

GEPAC is a non-profit organization that since 2010 offers psycho-oncological, social, legal, onco-aesthetic and physical rehabilitation advice to both cancer patients and their families. On the occasion of 14th Congress of Cancer Patients To be held from November 22 to 24 of this year, GEPAC convenes this conference to reflect on and assess the informative treatment of cancer in the media.
