The Production Company of the Faculty of Communication Sciences collaborates with the Fuenlabrada City Council in a new initiative

The chronically ill associations attached to the Fuenlabrada City Council are the protagonists of this new project. The URJC Unit team is in charge of creating multimedia content.

The event took place last Thursday at the Tomás y Valiente Art Center in Fuenlabrada. The URJC interns were in charge of recording the two talks in which chronic patients from different associations recounted their experience with the pandemic. Currently, the Producer's team is making a video to promote this new initiative by the Department of Consumer Affairs and Public Health of Fuenlabrada.

The main idea with this type of talk is "to give visibility to diseases and their day-to-day experience with the current situation," says Patricia Ruiz, in charge of contact with the entities. On the part of the Production Company of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, the objective with the video is that "they express themselves, giving them a voice", says Vicente Sanz, coordinator of the students.

“With this type of project, we are not only collaborating socially, but also training and providing experience to students in internships”, declares Vicente Sanz. His team is made up of Daniel Seseña, Jesús Maldonado, Elsa García and Raquel Romero. On behalf of the City Council, Patricia Ruiz and Elisa Marco, from the Department of Consumer Affairs and Public Health, together with Álvaro Sangregorio, from the Department of Communication, have collaborated in organizing the event.

The entities that were part of the act are: Spondylitis patients from Fuenlabrada, ARMAREL, Fuenlabrada Diabetics, ConArtritis, ASAV, Madrid Association of Cystic Fibrosis, Sex Education, ASPARFU, Fuenlabreña Association of Multiple Sclerosis, AFIFUEN and AECC.

The report will be available on the URJC TV platforms at the following link: https://tv.urjc.es/. In addition, it can also be seen through the social networks of the City Council and the Department.
