The Covid-19 Pandemic has shown the world how important gastronomy is when it comes to identifying a society. These conferences aim to promote a meeting point for journalists, academics, chefs and university students to unite with research and intercultural communication. Gastronomic journalism is becoming more and more relevant and it is necessary to know its versatility both in the world of work and in research for university professors and students.
The sessions feature a very special guest, Ferran Adriá, one of the best chefs in Spain and the world, to talk about how they research gastronomy at the "elBulli Foundation". Adriá has also perfected a methodology that he himself calls Sapiens which facilitates creativity and innovation in both gastronomic and educational fields. On the other hand, there will be figures such as Sara Cucala, film director, philologist and journalist, who will give her opinion on gastronomic interculturality and identity in television and cinema.
Yanet Acosta, professor of the History of Journalism and Photojournalism at the URJC and recent National Award for Gastronomic Journalism "Álvaro Cunqueiro", will be in charge of coordinating the conference. In turn, the URJC professors, Carlos Lozano and Alexandra Sandulescu, will act as coordinators, in an exchange of ideas between the journalist Carmen Alcaraz and the aforementioned Sara Cucala, together with other professors from universities such as Victoria Tur (Alicante), Francesc Fusté (Girona) and Beatriz Peña (Huelva).
