The Royal Spanish Society of Natural History: 150 years making history

Until August 29, the National Museum of Natural Sciences has a wonderful exhibition for all lovers of Spanish history and culture. The museum has to its credit an exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Spanish Society of Natural History.

This society was constituted on March 15, 1871 for the study and to be able to know the natural productions of Spain. In the cast of members it had figures such as Santiago Ramón y Cajal or Severo Ochoa. People who have been of great importance in the history of our country.

In the exhibition you will experience a journey through these 150 years in which scientific and editorial activity can be observed in great detail. The sample has more than a hundred objects in which are publications, documents, photographs or drawings among others.

PhotoEspaña

Every year, in the months of June and July, the PHotoEspaña festival is held. A festival in which it is exhibited in various museums, art galleries, halls and in different activities depending on the theme that takes place in the year in which it is celebrated. From June 2 to September 30, the XXIV edition of PHotoEspaña will feature a large number of exhibitions to tackle the different social issues of today.

The exhibition is wide-ranging since it has different artists to its credit, such as Elvira Dyangani Ose, who will develop a program "Against the race" or Isabel Muñoz who will present an interactive installation to make people reflect on the environment. .

Rafael Botí "Landscapes 1922 - 1970"

An exhibition in which it is offered to contemplate the landscape work of the great Andalusian painter Rafael Botí will be exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art until May 20, 2022.

Rafael Botí was a painter who also dedicated himself to music. He studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Córdoba and proceeded to further dedicate himself to music studying at the Córdoba Conservatory and later joining the National Orchestra of Spain.

Once his passion for painting was unleashed, Botí developed as a painter and joined another of his interests, landscapes. In this exhibition you can find, above all, landscapes of Madrid from the beginning of the XNUMXth century, where the outskirts of the city or the Basque Country, where he traveled many times, are reflected.
