Professor Javier Barraca is a finalist in the IV APROGV Literary Contest

The decision of the contest, which celebrates its fourth edition this year, was known on January 15

El Professor Javier Barraca (Head of the Philosophy area) has resulted one of the three finalists in the “IV Novel Contest” of the APROGV (Pro Civil Guard Association), in short novel form. His work bears the title "The waves of nothing" and represents a introspection, at the same time literary and philosophical, in the interior and the life of a family member very close to a victim of terrorism.

The work that won the first prize was finally "The conspiracy of the thirds", by MA Carcelén. Its author is a prison officer, an anthropologist by training, as well as a prolific writer and editor. The jury was made up of the writer Ricardo Magaz, the journalist Luis Romeo Bartumeus and the editor Héctor Escobar, from the “Eolasdiciones” label.

El Professor Barraca has a Doctor in Law and Philosophy from the UCM y corresponding academic of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain. It has a extensive literary workAlways halfway between the literary and the philosophical, which continues its line of novels with an ethical sense, moving between meditation and narrative. In this sense, some of his previous compositions have already achieved distinctions in various contests. This happened, for example, with his novels "The Science of the Void" (winner of the Oblique Narratives award, Barcelona), "Dietario de un ex" (Ed. Gravitaciones award, Gijón) or "Persona" (Didaskalos Ediciones award, Madrid).
