Alcobendas positions itself as a leader in Artificial Intelligence with the support of the Rey Juan Carlos University

In an unprecedented event that marks a milestone in the history of technology and education in Spain, the city of Alcobendas has demonstrated its commitment to the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to the collaboration between the Alcobendas City Council, the Rey Juan Carlos University, and the support of leading companies such as Astara.

Alcobendas, February 29, 2024 – In an unprecedented event that marks a milestone in the history of technology and education in Spain, the city of Alcobendas has demonstrated its commitment to the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (AI), thanks to the collaboration between the Alcobendas City Council, the Rey Juan Carlos University, and the support of leading companies such as Astara. The conference "Decoding AI: Keys to understanding its impact on the business ecosystem", held at the Astara offices, brought together experts, entrepreneurs and citizens in a dialogue about the digital future.

The mayor of Alcobendas, Ms. Rocío García Alcántara, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Ms. María Enciso Alonso-Muñumer, and the AI ​​expert and main speaker, Antonio Serrano Acitores, have led this essential meeting for the advancement of artificial intelligence in the business and academic field.

The event began with the arrival of the mayor Ms. Rocío García Alcántara, who was received by key figures such as the CEO of Astara, Mr. Jorge Navea, and the manager of the City of Alcobendas Foundation, Ms. Elisabetta Bracco. After a family photo, Ms. Elisabetta Bracco presented the event, giving way to interventions by Dean Enciso and the mayor herself, who highlighted the importance of AI in the economic and social development of Alcobendas.

Antonio Serrano Acitores, with his extensive experience in AI and digital transformation, gave a keynote lecture on the transition to a digital economy, the fundamentals of AI and the potential of Generative AI tools. His exhibition not only illuminated the path to the digital future but also underlined Alcobendas' position as a center of innovation and knowledge.

The success of the event was reflected in the participation of 130 in-person and 50 virtual attendees, evidencing the interest and relevance of artificial intelligence in today's society.

This event marks the beginning of a series of conferences that promise to position Alcobendas and the Rey Juan Carlos University at the forefront of artificial intelligence, opening new doors for training, research and application of this transformative technology.
