On March 30, researchers from the Agro-Food Technology Center visited the ESCET facilities Ctic Quote as a prelude to the General Action Protocol that is in the processing phase between our University and the Center. This Protocol will serve to carry out various actions that will be very useful for our students of the Degree in Food Science and Technology (CyTA), including the External Practices or the Final Degree Project. Ctic Quote, as a technological research and development center with a market vision, has extensive and consolidated experience in the management and execution of projects both at a regional, national and European level.

On the occasion of the visit, three tasting sessions were organized to which some 80 students from all the courses of the Degree in CyTA were able to attend. The tastings were carried out in the ESCET Sensory Analysis Laboratory and were divided into two parts. First of all, the students were able to taste products (vinegar, oil and honey) in single-dose containers developed within the European BIONSAP project, which focuses on reducing the use of plastic in this type of container and replacing it with biodegradable materials. Secondly, analogues of squid in its ink and of fingers chicken, made within the national TOGETHER project that aims to revalue vegetable by-products (red grape skin and rapeseed meal) through wet extrusion. The organization was carried out by the professors Sonia Morante, Coordinator of the Degree, and Isabel Sierra, professor of this and deputy director of Quality and Qualifications of the ESCET. In addition, the circumstance occurs that one of the researchers who visited us, Irene González, is a student who graduated from this degree at this university and took the opportunity to tell the attendees about her professional career and encouraged them to dedicate themselves to the Research sector, Development and Food Innovation.
