The professor of the Department of Communication Sciences and Sociology of the Rey Juan Carlos University has been recognized as emerging researcher of the year.

The awards granted by the Latin Magazine of Social Communication have awarded Luis M. Romero-Rodríguez in the category of emerging researcher for his research career, as well as his participation in various scientific journals of high influence in society, for his work as editor in the Comunicar Magazine and for the edition of monographs and editorial works.

“The award has been a recognition of the career”, indicated Luis before expressing the need for Spain  to find a balance between research and teaching, through a refocusing of education. Luis indicates that "it is necessary to promote entrepreneurship, co-creation and cooperation in Spanish universities in order to ensure that there are both good researchers and good businessmen and entrepreneurs".

According to the professor of Communication Sciences and Sociology, it is very important to implement the number of Communication awards in Spain. "University teaching in Spain is very hard and is not well paid, so it requires a very big sacrifice." For this reason, it is very important for him to recognize work through awards, "to keep teachers motivated to continue doing their work."

It also maintains the importance of knowing how to communicate to society the work carried out to achieve due recognition. “I know many researchers who have published a lot of research and have written many books and who have the same or even more merits than me […] but perhaps their mistake has been not communicating it correctly.”

In addition, Luis points out the small anecdote of the way in which he found out that he had been awarded and describes it as "funny", since it had to be a colleague from the University of Alicante who informed him and congratulated him without him knowing. of his own prize.
