Antonio Lopez in Sol

With the aim of paying homage to Antonio López, one of the most important artists that Spain has had, an exhibition is held until June 20 where the works "Carmen Despierta" and "Carmen Dormida" are shown to the public. Two portraits of the granddaughter of the painter and sculptor that he made with great affection.

The exhibition is presented at the Real Casa de Correos, a place of great attachment for Antonio López since it was where he kept his work materials for years on the days he dedicated himself to painting the Puerta del Sol.

For those who do not know Antonio López, he is one of the most prominent painters and sculptors on the national and international scene. His work constitutes the generation of the 60's to which he belonged. He is also considered a master of Realism.

False! A story of deception, art and greed

Until July 18, the National Archaeological Museum presents an exhibition referring to the different coins that have been forged through different moments in history.

The counterfeiting of coins has been going on since almost the invention of it already around the year 600 BC Whether it was out of necessity or out of sheer greed and greed for wanting to get more money, or for wanting to deceive the market, this "art" has remained and traveled many moments in history.

These coins represent our history and in the exhibition they are analyzed in a more detailed way to understand it. The Department of Numismatics and Medals develops this sample and they are the ones who have donated the pieces so that these forgeries can be analyzed.

Bauhaus: a pedagogical model. Ceramic projects of the Francisco Alcántara School of Art

The National Museum of Decorative Arts hosts an exhibition with the final projects of the students of the Francisco Alcántara School of Ceramics that they carried out in the 2018-2019 academic year.

The exhibition seeks to commemorate and give visibility to the pedagogical model that was proposed at the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar in 2019. For this, the exhibition gives us the opportunity to see how these types of artifacts are made. From the first sketch to the last brushstroke.

The projects that are presented belong to the cycles of Pottery, Ceramic Decoration, Artistic Ceramics and Ceramic Model Making and Matrices.
