Georgia O'Keeffe

The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum hosts the first retrospective in Spain of Georgia O'Keeffe until August 8, 2021. The exhibition has nearly 90 works by the artist, who is considered one of the greatest representatives of North American art of the twentieth century.

In the work you can see the path of Georgia O'Keeffe's artistic career. She was a pioneer of abstract art and was distinguished as America's leading figure in modernity at the time. The exhibition traces her artistic career from the works of 1910 with which she acquired the fame of abstract art.

Georgia O'Keeffe, born in Sun Praire, Wisconsin, developed throughout her life a very personal style, which was identified as the expression of a new Native American art.

Khamekaye. Paula Ant

Until October 17 in the Sala La Fragua de Tabacalera you can enjoy the exhibition of the artist Paula Anta. This exhibition consists of the Khamekaye series of photographs. This series is based on photographs that show a part of the Senegalese coastline which covers about 150 km. From the north of Dakar to the landing of the Senegal River.

On the beaches photographed by Paula Anta, there are large symbols placed in the sand by fishermen to guide travelers passing through these areas.

Paula Anta is a Doctor of Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has exhibited her exhibitions in prestigious places such as Matadero de Madrid, the Royal Botanical Garden or the Costume Museum among others.

The human image: Art, identities and symbolism

Caixa Forum offers an exhibition where you can enjoy different pieces from different periods, locations, and styles where you can see how human beings represent themselves. The exhibition will be available until January 16.

The exhibition covers history and art where you can see how human beings have been represented throughout history. Whether it is a simple drawing or a realistic sculpture, the exhibition offers all kinds of designs in which the human figure is represented.

The British Museum, the Fundación la Caixa Collection and other museums such as the Prado have collaborated to carry out this exhibition.
