Alba Iruela, a former student of the URJC Faculty of Communication Sciences, has a YouTube channel where she deals with various social issues.

"Lifes to Report", the YouTube channel of Alba Iruela and her partner Laura Moreno Villanova, arises with the aim of "talking about topics that people do not usually comment on, false myths, prejudices... all in a very close way in interviews that you can talk to the person, who transmits to you what they are experiencing, what they want to tell”. In addition, according to Iruela herself, the videos try to "make people see that there are problems that they have in front of their eyes but that there is something that covers it and that prevents them from seeing it."

The channel has different videos that cover a large number of social issues that give voice to many people who are having a hard time on a daily basis. Sexist violence, child slavery, or women in science are some of the topics discussed. Although there are two videos that have exceeded ten thousand views, which deal with female genital mutilation and the homeless, and according to Alba Iruela herself, “you are a girl who has just finished her degree and seeing that your video is liked by so many people and who interact with you because it motivates you to continue even more”.

The topics to be discussed on the channel are often hard, Iruela assures that when it comes to interviewing certain people “they get very excited and that makes you get excited too and then you get more involved in the subject. That in the moral part, that in the end we connect with the person interviewed, that is, that we achieve such a comfortable bond that they manage to get their true feelings out and it is not a conventional interview that is only a question and an answer”.

Soon “Lifes to Report” will upload a video about perinatal grief. A topic that deals with children who die as soon as they are born and that, according to Alba Iruela, “we are talking to direct families who have suffered it and tell how they have gone through that mourning. It is an issue that also enriches socially because it is a very little visible loss that nobody values. It's being hard but it's turning out very nice for us because we believe it's a subject that nobody knows about”. To stay informed you can do it through the following link: https://cutt.ly/bnYjnNp

At the same time as running the YouTube channel, Alba Iruela is doing a scholarship for the EFE Agency. She has managed to get two articles published and has assured that she “is very cool. In the end, people don't notice who it is and they won't see my name, but the fact of seeing your name encourages you to continue writing”. TheThe current EFE fellow deals with controversial issues on many occasions, but she is clear that “I want to tell the truth, show different points of view, and for that, not just close yourself to what you think is right. It is a bit of that, trying to change society and teach the different points of view or mentalities that exist.
