Contemporary society, the urban landscape and German identity through the photographs of Michael Schmidt

The Reina Sofía museum hosts the Michael Schmidt exhibition until February 28. Photographs 1965-2014. 

The cinematographic showcase collects the work of five decades of the prestigious German photographer. On the 3rd floor of the museum's Sabatini Building you can see around 350 works including portraits, landscapes, still lifes and urban views, as well as book models and archive material. This has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Goethe-Institut Madrid and the Amigos Goethe-Institut Spain association.

 

The XNUMXth edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival returns

The Artistic Metropol space will be in charge of exhibiting the European film competition dedicated to Asian production in general and India in particular from September 24 to October 9. The guest of honor country this year is Turkey. 

The festival, which has the support of the Embassy of India and the Community of Madrid, will exhibit 91 works divided into 21 sections. A tribute to the late Indian director will also be held Buddhadeb Dasgupta and a restored copy of The Alderman's Music Room will be displayed Satyajit Ray. In addition, the Fair has also organized the Save Afghanistan section where five films by Afghan authors will be exhibited. 

The contest will have 32 awards that will be decided by a jury chaired by Pedro Hernández and made up of 23 well-known members of the film industry.

 

LEV Slaughterhouse. A space for new digital technologies

From this Thursday 23rd to 26th September, the Matadero Madrid space hosts the Visual Electronics Festival, which offers unique experiences of augmented reality, virtual reality, alternative fictions and new digital environments. 

Visitors will be able to enjoy, as in every edition, concerts and audiovisual performances in the Cineteca space, where they will be able to see both national and international talents. In this same space, great artists of the stature of Martin Messier or the Austrian group Total Refusal will also be welcomed. 

The La Nave 0 space will be where the virtual reality programs are projected with the VORTEX section. For its part, augmented reality will be welcomed through the Augmented City section in the outdoor space Matadero Fauna by Adrien M & Claire B and the Brest Brest B designer collective.
