In this first edition it is framed in the audiovisual world of cinema and television, and can be adapted in coming years to other professional contexts within the world of Communication (Journalism, Advertising, PR, Corporate Communication, etc.).
Facilitate job placement
With the aim of facilitating the job placement of graduated students, these sessions seek to offer a clear vision of the Spanish audiovisual panorama based on the training and professional experience of its guest speakers. In guided interview format or through discussion tables, they will relate their first-person experience of the Spanish audiovisual industry, with the aim of serving as guidance, example and inspiration for the future steps of the students who graduated from URJC.
An optimistic view
The speakers, under 45 years of age, will also provide a vision adjusted to the professional reality that students will encounter at the end of their studies. They will also offer them an optimistic vision in a social context of high youth unemployment rate. The speakers finished their training around the economic crisis of 2008 that greatly affected the audiovisual sector, their future at the end of their studies was no more optimistic than that of our students today. Its history, articulated by numerous projects and professional ups and downs, is today in a moment of high professional success and stability, which can serve as encouragement to students in the face of their uncertain professional future. The possibility of accessing their experience, or of being able to ask them in first person about details of their professional evolution, will also allow them to offer a real and updated industrial context to the contents of their study plans, complementing their training in relation to the configuration of the audiovisual industry, the functions in the production chain of audiovisual projects or the work within the different areas.
Dissemination carried out by students
Likewise, students have joined the organizational committee with the express function of taking photographs and videos of the event. On the one hand, videos and promotional pieces to promote it on social networks, betting on a dissemination that affects the digital, both for its effectiveness in reaching the student public and for being more respectful of the environment than the massive posting of posters and use of brochures. Photographs will also be taken and teasers in video of the event that can facilitate its echo in the press or the archive of its development. Students will also be responsible for managing the promotion of the event on social networks. Their work at the event will allow the students of the organizing committee to complete their portfolio, as well as the use, application and improvement of knowledge and skills acquired in their degrees.
