The URJC Film Classroom / Union of Filmmakers' screening cycle continues next Wednesday, November 15. After the film there will be a discussion with the director.

The URJC Film Classroom is a set of monthly screenings with the presence of filmmakers for a subsequent colloquium, organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Campus Community, Culture and Sports together with the Union of Filmmakers.

The next screening is about The altarpiece of wonders: notes for a film about Don Quixote, by filmmaker Guillermo G. Peydró. The event will take place next Wednesday November 15 at 18:30 hours in the Departmental Degree Hall I of the URJC Campus of Fuenlabrada. Free and free assistance until full capacity. will be granted ECTS creditsTo do this, the required data must be left in writing on the attendance sheet.

This is how the film, which in 2022 received the Award for Best Feature Film Direction at the 54 Alcances Festival (Cádiz), is described in the synopsis of its own website: "A film made of burning books, windows and calendars. A quarantine film with lies, fictions, post-truths and alterations of confined memory. A film written in forty days of silence, as notes for another future film, in an increasingly less recognizable city. Cervantes, connoisseur of confinements and pandemics, presides over a game of mirrors between centuries that connects Madrid and Beijing, and that filters the news, gestures and political strategies coming from the daily press of the nervous and spectral Madrid of the spring of 2020."

Guillermo G. Peydró himself will be present during the screening, and after it there will be a discussion with him. Peydró is cineasta and doctor in Art History. His films have been screened in museums such as the Louvre or the Reina Sofía, in universities and research centers such as New York University, Bard College or the CSIC, and at festivals such as the FID Marseille or the FIFA de Montréal.
