The Alcorcón Foundation University Hospital (HUFA) has been the first in Spain to have carried out a serological study on its staff on the prevalence of Covid-19.

The person in charge of the investigation was the Dr. Maria Velasco Arribas, associate professor at FCS, Head of Research at HUFA and head of the project. 

In total, 2914 hospital professionals participated voluntarily, including service personnel from external companies that work under contract, such as security and cleaning (90% of its staff). Among them, linked and associated professors of the FCS have participated, as well as internship tutors. 

The results of the study showed that, 814 workers, 31% are or have been infected with coronavirus. Half of them have had antibodies but no symptoms.
