Posted by DOMINGUEZ DEL TRIUNFO, HELENA

The professors and students of the Art degrees of the Faculty have carried out, between March 13 and 17, the creation of an ephemeral work in the Center of Art and Nature of Huesca

On March 17, after four days, the days of art and landscape "Voices and words" (http://www.cdan.es/voces-y-palabras/) at the Center for Art and Nature (CDAN) in Huesca. As part of the activities of this meeting, the teachers of the Sculpture Area of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Ana Balboa y Martha Linseed, who run the artistic research project from the sculpture "Conversations with the landscape" (https://www.conversacionconelespaisaje.com), have worked on the creation of a work in the gardens of the CDAN. Capture

In addition to these teachers, this initiative has had the participation of other teachers of the University, as well as other guests (Javier Mañero Rodicio, Ruth Remartínez Martínez, Emma García-Castellano García, M.ª Jesús Abad Tejerina, Mónica Martínez-Bordiú Aznar, Valerie de la Dehesa Barbe) and students of the Degree in Fine Arts (Alicia Rojo Temprado, Rosalía Ballester Valcárcel, Irene Fraile Coma, Laura Llimona Otero) and the Master in Contemporary Artistic Practices from the Rey Juan Carlos University (Cecilia Calderón Mariscal, Santiago Pérez Fontán, Carolina Sampedro Gesteira, Aldara Vázquez Estévez).

The project, which has been running for thirteen years now, explores the landscape not only as an artistic workplace and support for the work, but also as its material. In the different calls, it has had the contribution of other researchers from this university such as Raquel Sardá Sánchez, Miguel Sánchez-Moñita, Tomás Zarza Núñez, Antonio Vigo and Vicente Alemany.

The work has consisted in the realization of an ephemeral work, a "living" work, in which the words of the set of novels "Gargantua and Pantagruel" (written by François Rabelais, author of the XNUMXth century) have been embodied, in the gardens of the exhibition space of the CDAN. The work, which has been carried out with biodegradable materials, will gradually fade from the garden due to the action of nature and meteorological phenomena. In this way, the members of the project reaffirm their commitment to practical collaboration between teachers, students and other researchers, as well as their commitment to the creation of cultural itineraries and new forms of art that are respectful of the environment.

The work can be visited on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m. and from 17:20 p.m. to 11:14 p.m., as well as on Sundays and holidays (except Monday), from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
