The ASESP successfully carries out a new parliamentary simulation

The Student Association of Parliamentary Simulations, an association linked to the Rey Juan Carlos University, resumed its activity on October 17, 2023 in the Assembly Hall of the Fuenlabrada Campus, successfully carrying out a new parliamentary simulation under the title SISREP.

The Student Association of Parliamentary Simulations (ASESP), an association linked to the Rey Juan Carlos University, resumed its activity on October 17, 2023 in the Assembly Hall of the Fuenlabrada Campus, successfully carrying out a new parliamentary simulation under the title SISREP.

With the support of Professors Javier Rodríguez Abengózar (Professor of History), Mercedes Alda Fernández (Professor of Political Sciences), the Vice-Rector of Community, Campus, Culture and Sports, Mercedes del Hoyo Hurtado, and the Vice-Dean of Students of the FCJP , Pablo Fernández de Casadevante Mayordomo, the activity consisted of simulating the Congress of Deputies during the time of the Second Spanish Republic through the speeches of the main political parties of that time.

Laura Arroyo and Paula Martín, General Director and President of the Plenary, respectively, of this innovative initiative also participated in the event.

Finally, the event closed with a conference on the topic by Professor Javier Rodríguez Abengózar.

Born in 2017, ASESP aims to create a space in which students can put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classrooms while developing skills such as negotiation, public speaking, teamwork or thinking. side; skills that will be very useful when entering working life.

With this type of simulations, the aim is to ultimately promote the development of fundamental skills and abilities for their professional future, emphasizing the so-called soft skills. Likewise, this simulation gives participants the opportunity to meet other students with the same tastes and concerns, helping to energize university life.
