The URJC launches a new commitment to excellence in research

The URJC launches the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, a commitment to achieve scientific excellence.

On December 10 2021, the URJC Rector, Javier Ramos, presents the Strategy on the Award of the European Commission “HUMAN RESOURCES STRATEGY FOR RESEARCHERS (HRS4R)” together with the Vice-rector for Innovation, Transfer and Corporate Relations, Fernando García Muiña, and the Vice-rector for Researchers, Visitación López-Miranda González.

After endorsing the European Charter and Code for Researchers in September 2018, the URJC was granted the HRS4R Award in 2020 and, thus, committed to developing a HR strategy which implies an institutional effort to ensure the quality of research and a collective commitment to promote and support a research culture which attracts, retains and boosts scientific talent.

The Strategy is implemented through an Action Plan consisting of 18 actions aimed at improving, among other aspects, the working conditions and the recruitment of researchers, as well as matters related to ethics in research and the development of the researchers' professional career.

The Action Plan will be implemented until 2025, when the European Commission will visit the URJC's premises to assess whether specific measures have been implemented and indicators have been gathered to demonstrate that support to quality research is a reality in the day-to-day of the University.
