Posted by Dounia Kaced Kaced

The purpose of the event is to provide tools for future communication professionals to verify information on the web.

During the courses, which will take place from June 14 to 18, the different existing information verification and analysis mechanisms will be presented. Attendees will be instructed in the risks of the age of information overload and hoaxes on the network.

The conferences are organized by the research group financed by the European Commission, CRESCent. This is a project whose mission is to develop tools to combat disinformation and fake news on the web. Create ways to contrast information and sources and analyze the meaning of online publications that may be totally or partially false. Its mission is to train professional and truthful communicators.

The training will be provided by communication professionals from collaborative entities, including the URJC. These will expose the main topics related to the current communication context, such as: propaganda, fact-checking, responsible journalistic practices or discourse analysis. They will also carry out virtual activities in order to teach attendees to unmask logical fallacies and to have critical thinking.

Interested students can sign up through the official CRESCEnt website or through the following link https://crescentproject.eu/virtual-activities/
