Looking at cultural heritage with different eyes: transdisciplinary work proposals

The Dykinson publishing house presents this new work, directed by Professor Félix Labrador Arroyo and Pablo Osma Rodríguez, which proposes a journey through new perspectives to appreciate, study and preserve the historical heritage.

Through the pages of this book, Present, disseminate, know and value heritage: transdisciplinary work proposals, directed by the Professor Félix Labrador (Modern History area) and Professor Pablo Osma Rodríguez (European University), A journey begins that goes beyond words, in which each chapter is a window to creativity and research in various aspects of Cultural Heritage.

Through its specialty and perspective (History, Art, Geography, But also divulgation, new technologies. or even, video games) the different authors act as a guide, bringing the reader closer to rediscover el . and with a New look, in a journey that invites us to value and preserve it in surprising ways.

  • Historical Heritage as a reference for the development of innovative contemporary creation projects

El professor Vicente Alemany Sánchez-Moscoso  (Painting area) and teacher Raquel Sarda Sanchez (Sculpture area) they explore the utility for the History, triggered by the question from a son to his historian father. Through references to classic works such as "The Historian's Office" de Marc Bloch and work by John Lewis Gaddis, "The Landscape of History", relate the current artistic creation and the art of the past, proposing a specific approach in Art History.

The teachers Miguel Sanchez-Moñita Rodriguez (Drawing area) y Tomás Zarza Núñez (Drawing area) go back to the year 1936, when the city of Madrid suffered devastating bombings during the Civil War Spanish by the Italian and German fascist aviation. A disaster that remained silent for decades until archaeological investigations were resumed on the street Peironcely, in the Entrevías neighborhood. A story that wants to contribute to preserving heritage and reinterpreting history.

  • Deconstruct Places to build awareness: the cultural heritage of Colmenar Viejo (Madrid) as an educational resource

El Professor Pablo Osma Rodríguez (European University) highlights the interdependence between education and heritage, revealing how both nourish each other, highlighting the importance of heritage education in the Spanish education system to preserve and enrich the historical, cultural and artistic heritage. Also, a brief historical review of Colmenar Viejo from the Bronze Age to the present day.

  • A Proposal for the Systematization and Dissemination of the Cartography of the Ensenada Cadastre

Ana Luna San Eugenio (Autonomous University of Madrid) introduces us to the Illustrated project of the Ensenada Cadastre, from the 18th century, in which the documentary wealth stands out. Although Spain undertook this project with the purpose of reforming its tax system, it did not achieve its initial objective. Despite this, the resulting documentation reveals valuable information.

  • The use of LiDAR and RPAS technology in the Analysis of the Fortified Spaces of Guzmán (Burgos)

El professor L. Alberto Polo Romero (Archaeology area) highlights the growth in the use of technologies in various archaeological and historical studiess, moving towards an archeology of the 21st century. He project "Fortified Landscapes of Guzmán" (Burgos) uses techniques such as photogrammetry y LiDAR, a remote sensing technology, to analyze fortresses synchronically and diachronically, with the main objective of studying the fortifications of the territory from the perspective of the landscape.

  • Identification of the historical remains of La Aceca, La Isabela and Fuenfría through the use and processing of LiDAR data

Minerva Centeno Peña (geographer specializing in Geographic Information Systems) acts as a guide in the use of the LiDAR for the identification of historical remains of the Moder Agena, thus highlighting its usefulness in the investigation and documentation of historical sites. A work that exemplifies his application on Real Sites located in Toledo, Segovia and Guadalajara.

  • An Overview on Cultural Heritage Regeneration with Minecraft: education and communication

Exploring the role of video games in communication and education of cultural heritage, Mara Angela Salis highlights the combination of LiDAR y Minecraft as a powerful tool for 3D reconstruction, research and dissemination in this ambit.

  • Heritage dissemination channels through the web in Spain

El Professor Roberto Morales Estévez (ESERP Business School) explore the evolution of the concept of “Historical Heritage” in Spain, focusing on the challenges y opportunities that presents the digital age. Technology expands knowledge of Spanish heritage, positioning it as a key destination for cultural tourism and generating wealth. Despite these advances, diffusion faces challenges, such as choice of platforms, obsolescence of information and variability of sources. To overcome these obstacles, conscious and effective management of social networks is advocated.

  • The sense of wonder as an innovative strategy for heritage education and its connection with environmental ethics through IVP and the civic_us methodology

Soraya Oronoz (ESERP Digital Business & Law School) It offers a heritage education based on fascination, wonder and experience, integrating it with environmental ethics. He highlights the importance of heritage for human identity and advocates an experiential and motivational approach. Furthermore, it explores the relationship between heritage and ecology, proposing a heritage ecology linked to the environmental ethics.
