Welcome Days for new ETSII students

Written by Micael Gallego Carrillo

Between September 15 and 24, the Welcome Days were held for new ETSII students, who are now beginning their university stage.

Divided into eight sessions, to avoid crowds, nearly 400 first-year students attended the Madrid Campus (Quintana and Vicálvaro campuses) and the Móstoles Campus, to be welcomed to the URJC by the director of the ETSII, the Deputy Director of Students and the Degree Coordinators. This year, the event focused on the presentation of the approved teaching protocol for the 2020-21 academic year and the main tools and applications that the university makes available to students for monitoring remote teaching.

After the welcome ceremony, the newly admitted students visited the campus, accompanied by their mentors: students in the last year of their degree, who voluntarily welcome them, to chat and share how their experience at the University has been.

As a novelty, this course, the ETSII has organized a gymkhana so that its new students become familiar with the URJC's computer applications and tools in a fun and entertaining way. More than 200 students have already completed this activity, thus obtaining 0.1 ECTS credits for their RAC subject, an ETSII t-shirt and their first badge in the Virtual Classroom.

Download here the Welcome brochure to the ETSII, with a summary of the information presented during the Welcome Days and instructions on how to participate in the gymkhana.
