The scientific dissemination activities, organized on the occasion of the Madrid Science and Innovation Week, attract hundreds of attendees every year interested in knowing those spaces that are not normally accessible to the public. In this nineteenth edition, the URJC has already received some 2.000 people who have visited the laboratories and work spaces of its scientific community, in addition to attending conferences on topics related to all areas of knowledge and various scientific disciplines.

Within this year's program, there has been a high interest in 'escape room' type sessions or those that invite participants to handle laboratory instruments. Activities related to the fields of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), Health Sciences or renewable energies have also attracted the attention of the attendees.

Throughout this second week of celebration, you can still participate in more than 50 scheduled activities, although many of them have full capacity from the first days of the start of the registration period. To register the requests for those places that remain available, it is necessary to access the reservation website and complete the registration form.

More than 1.200 activities are offered in the Community of Madrid

For the nineteenth consecutive year, the URJC has joined the largest scientific outreach event in the region. More than 2019 institutions participate in the 600 edition. The URJC scientific community thus joins the more than 3.000 researchers from all scientific disciplines in charge of organizing the more than 1.200 free activities scheduled for this year.

The slogan chosen for the XIX Science and Innovation Week in Madrid is 'For inclusive science', with the aim of supporting public awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which range from the eradication of poverty to the protection of the planet and the fight against climate change.

The event also joins the celebration of the International Year of the Periodic System of the Elements on the occasion of its 150th anniversary and the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the arrival of man on the Moon.

The activities of the Madrid Science and Innovation Week are coordinated at the URJC by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i), dependent on the Vice President for Research, and have the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
