  1. Write a summary of 40 to 50 words. The summary should adhere to the following guidelines:
    1. It must contain the main ideas of the text.
    2. It must be written in the student's own words; that is, it cannot be a paraphrase of the text.
    3. It must be objective; therefore, it cannot contain personal opinions or assessments. The ability to summarize will be positively valued.
  2. Determine the text type. The way in which you justify your answer will be positively valued, especially when you explain the resources used to achieve appropriateness to the topic, the recipient, and the communicative situation (author-reader relationship).
