PCR 7500 FAST2 |
QuantStudio 12k |
Systems ABI 7500 Fast Real-Time PCR (APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS)
These are two Real Time PCR devices that detect and quantify nucleic acid sequences. Detection of accumulated PCR products cycle by cycle is possible through the combination of programmed temperature cycles, fluorescence detection and the use of specific computer applications.
Applications:
- Quantification of gene expression.
- Absolute DNA quantification (quantification of microorganisms in biological samples, quantification of gene dose).
- Genotyping (detection of polymorphisms of a nucleotide).
QuantStudio 12K (Applied Biosystems)
PCR equipment for plates of 96, 384, Taqman array Cards, working with Taqman probes and SYBR reagent
Digital PCR compartmentalizes a generic PCR reaction into thousands of nanoliter-scale reactions, each containing none, one, or just a few DNA molecules. By counting the positive reactions and applying Poisson statistics, absolute quantification of the sample is achieved. dPCR overcomes common limitations of qPCR, such as the need for standard curves, low precision when measuring rare targets, and lack of sensitivity under high background conditions
Molecular Imager Chemidoc MP photodocumentation equipment
Equipment for taking fluorescence images of DNA, RNA and protein gels and membranes, multiwell plates.
Applications:
- Detection and quantification of fluorescently labeled nucleic acids and proteins present in solid supports or in solution such as membranes, gels or plates of different types.
QSEP ONE TM Bioanalyzer (BIOPTIC)
It is a platform based on microfluidic technology designed for the determination of the size, quantification and quality control of DNA, RNA and proteins in a single instrument, through capillary electrophoresis. The results are obtained in a short period of time in an automated manner.
Operation is based on capillary gel electrophoresis (included in a replaceable cartridge) with a highly sensitive integrated LED-induced fluorescence detector with the capacity to analyze 1 to 8 samples.
Nanodrop 1000 and NanodropTM ONE spectrophotometers (Thermo Scientific).
Nanodrop 1000 |
NanodropTM ONE |
NANODROP 1000:
Spectrophotometer that allows up to 1 microliter of sample to be used for quantification.
Applications:
Accurate quantification and quality determination of nucleic acid and protein samples using very small volumes of these samples. Provides the absorption spectrum of the sample.
NANODROPTM ONE:
It measures the variation of absorbance with the wavelength of a solution using only a 1 and 2 microliter microdroplet. From the absorbance, it automatically calculates the concentration of DNA, RNA, proteins and other substances, showing the entire ultraviolet-visible spectrum. To detect and quantify impurities, it includes the AcclaroTM software, which has an algorithm to correct the concentration values of the samples. In addition, it has an option that measures the integrity of the samples through digital image processing.
QUBIT fluorometer (Thermo Scientific).
It is mainly used to specifically measure the concentration of DNA, RNA and proteins using fluorescence...reaction with specific kits...determination of RNA integrity...fluorimetry of other types of samples...
FLUORSTAR OMEGA FLUORIMETER (BMG LABTECH)
Microplate reader for fluorescence and absorbance detection.
2 fluorescence detectors:
Fluorescence Excitation Range 415 nm and Emission Range 550nm.
Fluorescence Excitation Range 485 nm and Emission Range 520nm.
Absorbance range covered (ultraviolet-visible spectrum).
PIPETMAX PIPETTING STATION (GILSON)
Automated pipetting equipment for the efficient processing of biological assays that require a high number of pipetting steps. For example, assays that require filling multiwell plates such as Real-time PCR or ELISA type assays. Using specific software on the team's computer, different pipetting protocols can be configured in multiwell plates.
Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting

You can test samples in 96-well plates or tubes.
BD FACS MELODY SYSTEM (BECTON DICKINSON)
It physically analyzes and separates particles or cells suspended in a liquid medium.
Cells or particles are usually pre-labeled with an antibody conjugated to a fluorescent molecule or directly to a fluorophore. These cells or particles in suspension pass through the fluidic system of the sorter and are interrogated by a laser that excites the fluorescent molecules. The emitted light is captured by the system and converted into an electrical signal that is analyzed by the control software.
The instrument has 3 excitation lasers, blue (488 nm), green-yellow (563 nm) and red (640 nm).
It can detect up to 10 parameters: size (forward scatter), intracellular granularity (Side scatter) and 8 color parameters with the following configuration:
• For blue laser 2 filters: 527nm bp32 (B), and 700 bp54 (A), apart from the FSC and SSC detectors.
• For green-yellow laser 4 detectors: 582 bp15 (D), 613 bp18 (C), 697 bp58 (B) and 783 bp56 (A).
• For red laser 2 detectors: 660 bp10 (B) and 783 bp56 (A).
