Sport and physical activity to fight excess weight
Professor Medina Gómez actively collaborates in the project 'Prevention of obesity. Lighten your life', which aims to develop actions for the treatment of obesity and overweight through physical exercise and sport.
The agreement signed between the CSD and SEEDO, in which the URJC professor also participated, will create a committee of experts. The board will be made up of scientists, doctors, science professionals, physical activity and sports and political authorities for the preparation and advice of different actions.
In addition, specific training programs will be launched for doctors and for professionals in physical activity and sports sciences. The objectives will be to promote the application of physical exercise and sport for the treatment of obesity for the entire population, with special interest for children, adolescents, women and the elderly.
