Professor José Antonio Álvarez, new president of the CEIM Economic Commission

Álvarez belongs to the department of Applied Economics I, History and Economic Institutions, and Moral Philosophy. The Economic Commission of the CEIM (Business Confederation of Madrid-CEOE) makes regular reports on the international, national and Community of Madrid economic situation.

José Antonio Álvarez replaces José Miguel Guerrero Sedano, recently elected as president of the Spanish Confederation of Metal Business Organizations.

The CEIM Economics Commission is made up of representatives of the departments of economics and business study services and of the sectoral and territorial business associations of the Community of Madrid.

This commission carries out analyzes of the economic situation, barometers and studies on the international, national and regional economy, published periodically.

Álvarez becomes president of the Economy Commission after 20 years of experience in which he has been mainly dedicated to the company, but also to teaching. At the moment he teaches classes in the double degrees of ADE + Service Engineering, ADE + Law, Advertising and PR + ADE, Sociology + ADE and in the degree of ADE. In addition to being a professor at the University, Jose Antonio Álvarez is doing a doctorate at the URJC.

He is currently CEO of the consulting company EXES, specialized in information technology, and general secretary of Droniberia, the Association of Drone Companies of Spain.

Álvarez, with a strictly economic training at URJC and specializations at American universities such as Stanford or UPenn, is passionate about technological change.

In this sense, their projects are always focused on the digital convergence of SMEs and large corporations, always from an economic point of view.
