To get this award, Diego has had to solve two exercises in which he had to create algorithms to solve different problems. The tests consisted of establishing the fastest route between two points on a map inspired by the 'Lord of the Rings' universe and visually representing the return of an investment fund based on more than a thousand data.
This student did not expect to win. "It was a surprise because, although I did the first exercise well, I had my doubts with the second", he pointed out. Participants had one week to complete the challenge. They could choose between solving one or both exercises.
After his good result, Diego has obtained a scholarship of 1000 euros for the three summer months at the ETS company, where he will work in the area of Web Development. According to this student, "this opportunity has been very good for me, because I was thinking of trying to work this summer."
Diego found out about the challenge thanks to the fact that the URJC ETSII organized a conference in which the company explained this challenge aimed at young programmers. For him "it is great that the university and the school spread these types of challenges" because they serve to "learn and meet people", he added.
