The URJC recognizes Carmen Gallardo for her career as dean of the FCS

This Monday, December 19, the professor has been honored by the university in recognition of the work carried out since 2013.

The University has recognized the career of the dean with an act held at the Faculty of Health Sciences, which was attended by the rector Javier Ramos. And practically all members of the government team and deans and directors of faculties and schools.

Gallardo, supported by her current team and by FCS personnel, thanked this recognition for the career of a person who came to the URJC more than 25 years ago and who has been dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences for a decade.

In addition to the tribute act, the dean and her team have carried out the planting of several trees on the Alcorcón campus.

Carmen Gallardo Pino has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Córdoba (1982) and a Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1992. In addition, she is a Doctor of Epidemiology and Public Health from the Rey Juan Carlos University in 2001 .

The dean of the FCS began her teaching career in 1994, at the University Center for Public Health, belonging to the Autonomous University and Community of Madrid, as an associate professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Autonomous University.

Already in 2002 he took possession of a position as Head of the University School at the Rey Juan Carlos University. And in 2008 she was accredited as Full Professor of the University by the National Agency for Evaluation, Quality and Accreditation (ANECA), in the Department of Preventive Medicine, Public Health, Microbiology and Medical Immunology, teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and participating in various educational innovation initiatives.

She has held different university management positions, highlighting that of Vice-rector for Social Policy, Environmental Quality and Healthy University from 2006 to July 2013. In that year she became dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the URJC.

In what has to do with research, its activity is articulated in three lines: mutual aid associations in the field of health, competencies in health promotion and health promotion in university environments.

In this sense, she has been Researcher-Responsible for WP8 of the COMPHP Project funded by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumption of the European Union and Founder and honorary president of the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities (REUS), a project that promotes from the university level since 2008, where more than 40 Spanish universities participate, it also coordinates the Ibero-American Network of Health-Promoting Universities (RIUPS).

Once the current term as dean ends, next February and with the new management team elected, Gallardo will continue his work as a teacher at FCS.
