The teachers' union has recognized Sanz Labrador's career due to projects on the influence of teachers' conditions on the teaching-learning process. These investigations have been carried out within the framework of the Rey Juan Carlos University and the stay at the London School of Economics (LSE).

The projects of the Economics professor at the URJC focus on the gender gap in Mathematics, "if we do not manage to close this gap in the degree itself, it will be transferred to the world of work." The evaluation of public educational policies is another of the research topics on which Ismael Sanz is working.

By holding this first edition of the ANPE-Education Awards, the 'National Association of Teaching Professionals' has highlighted the work of professionals and institutions that work for educational quality.

This organization is dedicated to providing educational and legal advice to its members and its objective is to improve the quality of public education and the working and economic conditions of teachers.

Currently, the URJC teacher is involved in research projects to determine the relationship between the number of students in a class and their level of learning, as well as the influence of the level of teacher training on educational quality.

According to Ismael Sanz Labrador, it is important that we maintain attention on the conditions of teachers: “we are seeing in the results of our research that reducing the ratio of students in classrooms improves the teaching and learning process.”
