Miguel Ángel Fernández Sanjuán, appointed foreign academic in Serbia

The URJC professor and professor of Physics has been chosen by the Serbian Academy of Nonlinear Sciences, an institution that promotes the development of nonlinear sciences in the Balkan country.

Professor Miguel Ángel Fernández Sanjuán, professor of Physics at the URJC and general editor of the Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF), has been elected foreign academic of the Serbian Academy of Nonlinear Sciences (SANS) in the plenary session held on last April 3, 2024, at its headquarters in Belgrade. The mission of SANS is to promote the development of nonlinear sciences in Serbia by coordinating fundamental and applied research, connecting scientists from various fields, organizing scientific events and through publications. “Nonlinearity is ubiquitous and is studied in a wide range of scientific disciplines. Membership in SANS includes regular academics and corresponding members, both national and international, recognized for their outstanding contributions in non-linear sciences,” says the URJC professor.

Fernández Sanjuán currently directs the research group in Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos Theory and Complex Systems at the URJC. He is also Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Applied Nonlinear Dynamics and editor of the Book Series on Complexity, Nonlinearity and Chaos from the World Scientific publishing house. In addition, the professor is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the GADEA Foundation for Science (CCA-FGC) in the Area of ​​Knowledge of Physical and Universe Sciences, as well as an elected full academician of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Spain, foreign member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and member of the Academia Europaea.
