The Rey Juan Carlos University launches the free course 'Intelligent energy for a sustainable future'

From the time they get up until they go to bed, the inhabitants of the planet consume energy, individually or in their businesses, urban or rural environments,… It is time to seek efficient solutions to the energy demand of more than 7.400 million people. inhabitants on a global scale, sustained by the massive consumption of fossil fuels with a finite future.

This course proposes solutions that help to face the energy challenges that arise. Also, knowledge is offered about the main renewable energies (solar, wind, hydraulic, ...) and applications in the home environment that help develop energy efficiency, and thus save money and improve the environment.

No previous knowledge is necessary for this course, only an interest in aspects related to energy, sustainable development, and the environment. It is especially interesting for students or future students of degrees in scientific, engineering and related areas of knowledge. 

Developed by expert teachers, and accompanied with interactive materials and high-quality videos, this free online MOOC will start on March 21, through URJCx, the open knowledge initiative of the Rey Juan Carlos University (www.urjcx.urjc.es) and in collaboration with urjc online. Registration is available to the entire community of Internet users who wish to take it, with a duration of five weeks and an estimated dedication of five hours a week.
