An App for managing large events in cities, winner of the 'Hackhaton 2017'

The 'EventEmotions' application, which combines the management of feelings regarding an event, impressions via twitter and subscription to activities or events in the user area, won first place in the URJC's 'Hackhaton 2017'.

The tool, among other innovations, collects comments on Twitter about the organization of an event, analyzes them and produces information on the perceptions of users in real time.

Among the other projects presented, an application stands out (Shelter seeker platform) especially dedicated to people in need of asylum, which uses Telegram technology and BlueMix natural language recognition to search for and offer accommodation, in case of catastrophes or attacks.

Related to this issue, another tool for managing alerts in the event of catastrophes or incidents in real time, aimed at public bodies or companies, has also been presented. This application allows the geolocation of the user through his device, by the emergency services and launch alerts in real time.

In addition, an application on public transport has been presented that provides useful information to the user, ranging from the recommendation of lines to the level of occupation of the bus.

Likewise, another group has developed the 'Guirix' tool, which serves as a tourist guide anywhere in the world, using natural language recognition, via Watson technology, to search for hospitals, restaurants or places of interest.

The teams that have presented the proposals have been made up of students from the URJC, workers from ViewNext and IBM.

The winners and one of the students from the Shelter seeker group and the real-time emergency alerts project have been offered a job contract at the technology company ViewNext, a subsidiary of the giant IBM, both collaborators of the 'Hackathon 2017'
